Would you like to know the timeframe taken for bathroom renovations Melbourne? It is always a good idea to get a rough timeline taken for your bathroom makeovers before you get started.  While two bathrooms cannot be the same, you could have a look at the project time frame that can tell you an approximate time that would take for bathroom makeovers when it comes to a small bathroom as well as a full size one.

    Step 1: Demolishing Old Bathroom

The time frame taken for it could be somewhere around 2 to 5 days. If the bathroom is made of timber and sheet walls, the demolition could finish within two or three days. If the bathroom is made of solid bricks, then it would require more time to demolish. You should keep in mind that if you are planning on changing the outlook of your bathroom, you should do it during this stage. New structural beams need to be added.

Step 2: Electrical wiring installation and plumbing

The time frame taken for it could be somewhere around 1 to 4 days. Once the demolition takes place on the bathroom skeleton comes up, electricians and plumbers are brought in to restructure the plumbing lines and wiring to fit in with the new bathroom plan. When it comes to small bathrooms, this might take just a day to complete. If you are changing the outline of the old bathroom, it would require the plumbing to be re-routed and wiring to be redirected to fit in with the new design.

Step 3: Reclining of new bathroom

This process would take around one to three days to complete.

Step 4: Waterproofing the new bathroom

Here, the new walls and new ceiling would be sheeted, set and prepared for the next stage. This could be done within 3 days and some homes would require rendering which might take a longer time to dry completely. The time frame taken for this procedure would be around 2 to 3 days. Waterproofing is one of the most important parts of the entire bathroom renovation process. If it is done right, it would make sure that a leak-proof room is ready for the years to come. If there is any failure in waterproofing, it would lead to many problems in the future. Hence, you should always work with reputable bathroom renovation experts. It will take around three days for the waterproof coating to dry out.

Step 5: Tiling of new bathroom

The tiles would be installed along with new doors and walls. This procedure would take around 1 to 3 days.

Step 6: Fit-out and painting of new bathroom

The finishing final touches would be laid up during this stage in the bathroom. With major fixtures and basins installed and sheeting and tiling in place, the bathroom could be now painted depending on your specification. Once the painting is done, you could have minor fixtures like tapware, toilet paper holders, mirrors and so on. The time frame taken for this process is around one to three days.

In short, renovating the bathroom would take around four weeks maximum while a full bathroom renovation might complete in six to seven weeks.
